This Blog is your source of information on the Georgian Peaks Ski School which includes
- Childrens Programs for our Snow Bears, Grizzlies and Polar Bears
- Adult Programs, including our Learn to Race Programs and Adult Group Lessons
- Private lessons, which are available for Members and Guests, from the beginner who is learning to ski through to the advanced skier, looking to fine tune their skills.
I'd like to congratulate the following participants who sucessfully achieved Level One CSIA intructor status on a course held at our club this past week. Read More »I've just uploaded all the class photos of the children's nine week program. To view, visit the photo gallery and click on Children's Program (you must be signed in as a Member to view this album). For a slide show presentation, click on the icon in the upper right hand corner. To save and print a copy of a photo, right click on the photo you want to save and place it in your picture file. Ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the variable spring weather.
Warm and dry gloves or mittens
Warm and dry socks
Helmet liner, balaclava, face mask, etc
Ski/snow jacket and pants
Rain jacket
Label with your child's name wherever possible
Ensure your child has properly fitting helmet, ski boots, skis and for some Polar Bear groups, poles.
Before morning and afternoon classes ensure your child has a healthy meal followed by a trip to the washroom (this helps prevent class ...
Read More »Just a reminder that March break is quickly approaching and our children's programme's which run from the 16th to the 19th are filling up fast. If you would like to register your child, please do so on line or call Maggie at ext. 263.
Parents on Saturday, March 7th (Club Championships) please drop off your child(ren) at 9:30 with their instructor at their usual meeting place. The instructors will have your child's bib. 3 and 4 years olds will be racing on Bay Street for 2 timed runs. 5 and 6 year olds will be on Riot for 2 timed runs. Parents are asked to pick up their child once they have completed their 2 runs. Awards will be presented at 11:30 at the Ski School Bell.

Read More »This Sunday's House League Race will be a Dual Slalom on Riot. In order to prepare for this, Friday will offer Dual Slalom training on Riot.
We will be free skiing in the a.m. and in the gates in the p.m. Coaches Mark and Heather will be on the hill to help you Fast Track your performance during competition.

Read More »The Adult House League Apres Ski will take this weekend in the West Lodge (bar side) following the race Saturday afternoon. The apres will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Adult Friday Training was a great success last week. Mark Noakes had a record 12 participants and the response to his training technique was extremely positive.
As a result of the positive feedback, we will add Liisa Savijarvi to the Coaching Team this week, Friday, January 16. Many of you know Liisa and know that her coaching skills will make our Friday training program the envy of the Escarpment.
