Bill Buchanan
Ski School Director
Bill has spent most of his life on the ball field, the hockey rink or the ski slopes. An avid sportsman, Bill first learned to ski at Chedoke Ski Club near his hometown of Dundas, Ontario and has been involved in the industry ever since.
In 1994, after a 25 year career in corporate Canada, Bill swapped his 'real job' status for self-employment, allowing him to expand his ski teaching career. He started teaching at Georgian Peaks in December, 1990 as a Snow Bear Instructor and progressed to teaching adults, Bell Supervisor and Assistant Ski School Director under Heather Metzger.
A Level III CSIA, Level I CSCF, Bill manages a large team of hardworking and talented ski professionals, many of them Club Members. Bill continually works to encourage his staff to take advantage of the many training opportunities provided, believing this approach is critical to maintaining the Club's well-earned reputation as Canada's Premier Private Ski Club.
During the off season, Bill and his wife Susan, who reside in Meaford, travel internationally with their equestrian business. In his spare time, Bill likes to golf, play softball, visit with his six grandchildren and tour the region on his vintage motorcycle.
Bill is always open to comments and suggestions and can be found at the Ski School Bell.
