Darrell Dennis
Operations Manager
Darrell was born and raised in the Beach, located in the south/east end of Toronto. He was introduced to the Collingwood area at the age of 16 when his parents semi-retired to the area.
At the age of 22, Darrell returned to the area after having worked in Toronto as a musician and ski/sports technician for a few years. Looking for a winter job to offset his summer employment, it was suggested he apply for a Ski Patrol position at Blue Mountain Resorts. Although only having skied a handful of times, Darrell was up to the challenge.
In the winter of 1983, Darrell was hired on as a seasonal Paid Patroller at Blue Mountain Resorts and was involved with the early development of risk management practices in the emerging litigious environment.
In 1984, Darrell was assigned to Georgian Peaks on behalf of Blue Mountain to assist with the volunteer patrol organization. This meant that Darrell had the opportunity to ski The Peaks every mid-week day they were open for the next few seasons. His fondness for the terrain grew rapidly.
Darrell became a full time staff member and Paid Patroller in 1987 when the Club went private. Since that time Darrell has been involved with all facets of the operation here at The Georgian Peaks Club.
