The Georgian Peaks Club Junior Time Trial Information PLEASE NOTE Alpine Ontario Alpin AGE GUIDELINES SCHEDULE Team Lists will be posted on Friday, January 2nd, 2009 AT 3:30 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2008: Nancy Greene Team Time Trials for Ages 9 and 10 8:00 - 8:30 A.M. - Bib Pick up - Whalen Alpine Centre - Coaches will have bibs for athletes registered in Christmas camps 9:30 A.M. - Time Trials Begin on Slalom - 2 RUNS G.S. 1:00 P.M. - Skill assessment begins - Meet in Groups Wednesday, December 31, 2008 K1 and K2 Team Time Trials for ages 11 & 12 and 13 & 14 8:00 - 8:45 A.M. - Bib Pick up - Whalen Alpine Centre 9:00 A.M. - Skill Assessment - Meet in Groups 1:00 P.M. - Time Trials Begin from Coyote Start- 2 RUNS G.S. Friday, January 2, 2009 - Posting of all teams will take place at approximately 3:30 P.M. at the Whalen Alpine Centre and on the Website Saturday, January 3, 2009: League Programs Begin 9:00 A.M. - K1 & K2 Teams meet at bottom of ROGERS 9:30 A.M. - Nancy Greene Escarpment Groups/Teams meet at the WHALEN ALPINE CENTRE (near the deck) 9:30 A.M. - J-Alpine Teams meet at ROGERS CHAIR Saturday, January 3, 2009 RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS START See posted signs in Lodges or web site for meeting times and locations PLEASE NOTE THE DATES AND TIMES!! JUNIOR TIME TRIAL RULES FULL HELMETS are MANDATORY for all G.S. and SLALOM races DOWNHILL SUITS - allowed for K1 and K2 and NOT allowed for Nancy Greene WAIVERS must be signed to enable your child to race NANCY GREENE/K1 & K2 TEAM SELECTION PROCESS The purpose of the Time Trials is to assist in the selection of Team Members for our 6 Nancy Greene Teams, our 7 K1 Teams and our 5 K2 Teams. Nancy Greene Time Trials are open to all racers ages 9 and 10 (as of December 31, 2008) K1 & K2 Team Time Trials are open to all racers ages 11-14 inclusive (as of December 31, 2008) **Nancy Greene Escarpment athletes (ages 7 and 8) as of December 31, 2008 do NOT participate in Time Trials** Athletes who have registered for either Nancy Greene or K1/K2 League Programs MUST PARTICIPATE in the APPROPRIATE TIME TRIALS. REQUESTS - Requests for children to be together must be in writing from both families. If the children qualify for different teams, both children will be placed on the lower team. Requests must be received by the Alpine Office by NOON, DECEMBER 30, 2008. TEAM COMPOSITION - There will be approximately eight Nancy Greene Teams with 13 members on each. There will be approximately seven K1 Teams with 13 members each and approximately three K2 Teams with 13 members. SPECIFIC SELECTION CRITERIA: (a) Athlete's results in Time Trials (b) Athlete's technical ability (c) Athlete's results in skill assessment (d) Last year's team placement (e) Athlete's age PLEASE NOTE: Nancy Greene or K1/K2 athletes are strongly recommended to participate in the Christmas Training Camp so that they are ready to ski their best during the Time Trials.
