Job Description: Trail Crew / Mountain Safety personnel will follow recognized techniques and procedures of the industry and The Georgian Peaks Club’s and the Area Managers policies & procedures. Strong, experienced skills and knowledge of operations at a ski resort are essential. Experience with a wide range of situations, including the daily operations, seasonal shutdowns, and special capital projects. A thorough working knowledge of trail maintenance, safety and ski hill operations is required. Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the outdoor areas which the outside operations department is responsible. Operate the tools and equipment of the department in a safe, efficient and effective manner in order to complete all assignment and duties. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment keeping the safety of co-workers, members and guests foremost.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of the Area Manager, maintains frequent communication & notifies of any problems or unusual conditions. Works very closely and maintains frequent communication with Ski Patrol.
Ensure safety of guests and staff through proper training and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Maintain an open and trustworthy relationship with respect to communication amongst staff and Management
Ensure that all trail crew vehicles and equipment are mechanically secure through preventative maintenance.
Maintain accurate & up to date records of all work completed on trails and report on all trail & mountain safety maintenance related activities. Accomplish tasks, document them daily for the Area Manager, with minimal direct supervision.
Maintain a general understanding of legal and risk management issues.
Provide appropriate direction & supervision to seasonal tail crew employees and seasonal parking lot employees. Leads by example.
Assist ski patrol in work , runs, trail maintenance and with the daily sweep of the trails.
As conditions warrant, must be willing to assist other areas of the outside operations department.
Removing plant materials that encroach on the trails, removing fallen debris and other materials that may cover trails, remove fallen trees, assist with new trail construction as directed, upgrading of deteriorated trails, repair of winter damage caused by storms/flooding etc., maintain and repair trail drainage systems, removal and/or repair of hazards found on trails, erecting and maintaining snow fence, tower & hydrant padding and barrier devices, pick up and manage garbage on the property through regular inspections.
· Monitors & maintains common areas, performs interior and exterior maintenance of Club and property
Keep work area, property & parking areas safe and clean and report any damage, malfunction, misuse or abuse of any equipment or property.
· Wherever or whenever possible, assist other departments with general maintenance needs.
· Must be a good communicator and relate well to people. Will be able to plan ahead, set goals, and see that they are met. Will be punctual at all times and have excellent leadership experience and organization skills, and be able to bring the best out of staff. Will be able to cope under pressure, consider risks, review options, make clear decisions and act with appropriate resources.
Qualifications: General ski area experience, previous ski resort experience, must hold a current, valid drivers license, must be flexible in work schedule, must be prepared to work in adverse conditions. Essential Skills: Capable of Skiing/Snowboarding all terrain levels under all conditions. Experience and familiarity with snowmobile operations. Team oriented with a desire to make a positive contribution to the resort as a whole
Able to interact well within a team atmosphere and to remain levelheaded in difficult situations.
Creative with strong troubleshooting skills. Strong literacy, documentation, communication skills and job professionalism. Highly motivated, works well independently with minimal supervision. Manual dexterity, ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects, physically fit and able to lift, carry, and install Banners, Snow fence, Bamboo, etc. Equipment operation an asset – Tractors, bulldozers, small excavator. Can lead by example and represent the resort to employees, various suppliers and industry partners in an ethical and professional manner.

Paid Ski Patrol - $17.00 hr
All positions involve working overtime, weekends and holidays.
We are looking for advanced skier/snowboarders who are competent first aid responders to join our Paid Ski Patrol team. Ability to ski all types of terrain is required.
Applicants must be certified in advanced First Aid (First Responder, EMR, CSP or equivalent with HCP level CPR/AED)
Ability to work well in a team environment in challenging weather conditions and physically fit enough to handle trail maintenance and patient transfers.
